About the Creator of Simply Looming
Teresa crafts each pair of slippers, beanie, and dog bandana we offer.
She’s not only a creator but also a wife, mother, and grandmother to twin boys who occasionally model her beanies. Living on a quaint rural property in the heart of Tasmania, Teresa has a passion for looming, a needle-free knitting technique introduced to her by a friend five years ago. This craft allows for a beautifully neat finish using a loom.
She takes great care in selecting the finest quality yarn for each beanie, ensuring that they not only look superb but feel wonderful too. Every item is handmade with a touch of Tasmanian love woven into every stitch.
Handmade Indigenous Print Dog Collar Bandana
$16.95
Accessorise your pooch with these charming dog bandanas, handcrafted in rural Tasmania, featuring gorgeous Jijaka Desert Tracks indigenous print.
Thread through the dogs collar - one size fits most dog sizes. High-quality double fabric construction ensures there is no 'wrong side,' always presenting a great look on your dog.
This Jijaka Desert Tracks Cotton Fabric is made from 100% cotton. JIJAKA is an Aboriginal word meaning "kangaroo”. Jijaka’s colourful, contemporary art tells the stories of desert and coastal tribes who have lived on the Australian continent for more than 40,000 years. Their corroboree ceremonies trace the ancient Dreamtime journeys of spirit ancestors, as they travel the vast Australian landscape. Royalties from Jijaka sales support the Nangala Project, to relieve poverty and disadvantage amongst Australian Indigenous children and their families through creating locally engaged & sustainable opportunity.
Picture shows owners of Gourmet Gift Hampers Tasmania's two much loved German Shepherds modelling the Bandanas at their property in rural Tasmania:
- 3 year old female, Lady Elizabeth aka Lizzie. Named after the Elizabeth River which runs through Campbell Town. Named after Elizabeth Campbell, the Scottish wife of Lachlan Macquarie.
- 9 year old male, Lord Campbell aka Campbell. Named after Campbell Town which is where Gourmet Gift Hampers Tasmania is located and the town was also named after Elizabeth Campbell.
